A haven between the seasons

Located on a peninsula in the Laurentians, this house is far more than a chalet: it is an anchor point. The owners, with their busy professional lives, retreat here every weekend to disconnect, breathe, and reconnect with their world. Cycling, skiing, waterskiing — the house is at the heart of an active lifestyle deeply rooted in nature.

Several years ago, we had renovated the father’s home. A meticulous man, whose trust had to be earned. He was the one who recommended his daughter call us. This relationship, built over time, was passed from one generation to the next — a precious mark of trust.

At the first visit, the house seemed worn out: faded carpets, humidity, a sagging roof. Yet instead of starting from scratch, the owners chose to preserve the essence. We undertook a major renovation, strengthening the structure and modernizing the whole, while keeping the soul of the place alive.

Two spaces embody this transformation: a glass-walled living room open to nature, and a screened veranda designed as a semi-indoor, semi-outdoor living space. Here, you hear the sounds of the outdoors and capture the light — without the inconveniences. These are spaces where one feels both protected and connected.
